Trail-Clearing in the Upper Veld

A week of dry easterlies has brought down three old acacias along the fence line of the north paddock. The Jimny became a mobile tool shed today, packed with a chainsaw, fuel canisters, recovery straps, and a high-lift jack.

Navigating the narrow sheep tracks requires a small footprint. Where a full-sized cruiser would have scraped its sides on the wait-a-minute bushes, the Jimny slipped through with inches to spare. The polyurethane bonnet skin did its job, letting the thorn branches slide off without scratching the clearcoat.

We backed up to the largest fallen branch. The recovery points came into play—thick steel loops bolted directly to the ladder frame. Hooking up the static tow strap, we shifted into low range, first gear. With the clutch fully released, the K15B's torque multiplier dragged the heavy timber clear of the fence post.

Manual labor, mechanical lever, direct force. In a world of digital dashboards and steer-by-wire, the Jimny is an honest tool. When you turn the key, it cranks; when you pull the lever, it pulls.
